A Professional and Personal Perspective
Hi, I’m Rebecca Devereaux. I support spouses and family members who are feeling overwhelmed, confused, or alone as someone they love becomes increasingly influenced by conspiratorial beliefs, online ideologies, or high-control digital communities. My role is to offer grounded, compassionate, and informed guidance for those facing this kind of shift in their home and relationship—something many never expected to face, and few know how to talk about.
I hold a degree in psychology and an MBA, and I’ve spent over 15 years working in social services—including addiction recovery, adolescent mental health, family support, and developmental disability systems. I’m also trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and deeply familiar with how trauma, identity, and belief systems shape behavior and relationships.
But more than that, this work is personal. A few years ago, I experienced a frightening and disorienting period in my life when I became immersed in conspiratorial and ideological thinking through online content. It led to delusional beliefs, isolation, and a loss of clarity about myself and the world. Recovering from that experience required deep personal work and outside support—and gave me firsthand insight into how complex and painful this process can be, not just for the person experiencing it, but for everyone around them.
